Pneumatic Conveying System

Description:

The principle of pneumatic conveying is based on the fact that bulk goods can be moved by means of air through pipelines. The flowing conveying air transmits a propulsion force on the bulk material and thus conveys it through the conveying line. Dynemix India is a leading manufacturer, exporter and supplier of Pneumatic Conveyors for transporting bulk materials.

Pneumatic conveying refers to a type of system that uses pressure differential and gas flow (usually air) to transfer dry bulk materials (powders & granules) from one process area to another. Moving bulk goods via air through enclosed conveying pipelines is the primary principle of pneumatic conveying. Here, the air movement is usually generated by a compressor, fan or root blower.

To convey bulk material through the conveying line, the flowing conveying air transmits a propulsion force. This requires a pressure difference between the start and end of the pipeline and to overcome this difference, compressors or conveying blowers are typically used. It also controls the positive/negative pressure as well as the airflow inside the conveying line, which allows the system to move the materials easily with very little loss or damage.

Salient Features:

  • Due to the compact nature of the conveying pipe transfer line, a pneumatic conveying system can be routed around existing equipment, giving more flexibility than a mechanical conveying system.
  • Can run vertically or horizontally over a long distance.
  • As the system is enclosed, there is protection against dust emissions to the atmosphere and also protection of the conveyed material from external contaminants.
  • Pneumatic conveying systems can be easier and more cost effective to maintain than a mechanical conveying system – fewer moving parts.
  • The ability to maintain a controlled atmosphere around the material.
  • Minimize system wear from abrasive materials and damage to fragile materials.
  • Take up less floor space so are easier to locate.
  • Can have multiple pick up and discharge points.
